Parish Priest & Moderator (Resident in Godalming)

Fr Jonathan How

Fr Jonathan was ordained priest for the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton in 1993 and was appointed parish priest of Godalming in October 2019. He has previously served as a priest in the parishes of Woking and Cobham. He knows Godalming well from his 18 years on the staff of the Seminary at Wonersh, teaching Philosophy and Liturgy.

He is a trustee of the Diocese and chairs its finance and art and architecture committees.

He has an active involvement with the Scout Movement at local, national and international level. In his spare time he enjoys climbing and mountaineering.

Fr Jonathan lives at St Edmund's, Croft Road. He is Parish Priest of Godalming in solidum with Fr Rajesh and acts as Moderator.

Parish Priest (resident in Haslemere)

Fr Rajesh Minz was ordained in 2008 for the Diocese of Rourkela in the North East of India.

After ordination Fr Raj served as an Assistant Parish priest in my home diocese, setting up a new school. After two and half years he was transferred to St. Albert’s Theological Regional Major Seminary in Ranchi, India where he had sone his own theological studies. He taught theology there for two years before being sent to do further studies in Pastoral theology at Leuven, Belgium.

With the agreement of his bishop, who wished him to have the experience of living and working abroad as a missionary, he has served in our Diocese in Bexhill since 2015, moving to Haslemere in September 2022.

Fr Rajesh likes visiting the families, care homes, sick, elderly and housebound. His hobbies are: reading, writing, walking, basketball games.

Parish Assistant

Parish Pastoral Team

The Pastoral Planning Team meets every half term and helps direct the strategic pastoral development of the parish. Its members are Fr Jonathan, Angela Gilmour, Ian Honeysett, Jo Lewry, Joe Meaney, Sarah Stilwell (ex-officio), Eleanor Streatfield, and Adrian Wyn-Griffiths (ex-officio).
